How to GUIDES

How to Measure for Your Roller Blinds (Face Fit)

Step 1: Measure the Width
Use a tape measure to record the outside width of your window frame across the very top. This will be your bracket-to-bracket measurement.
■ Note: The fabric will be around 30mm narrower than this width.

Step 2: Measure the Drop
Measure from the top of the frame down to the point where you want the blind to finish. This could be at the bottom of the frame, just above the floor, or aligned with other blinds in your room.

Step 3: Choose Your Chain Side
Decide which side you’d like the control chain to be on. Consider which side is easiest to reach, free of obstructions, and visually discreet.

How to Measure for Your Roller Blinds (Recess Fit)

Step 1: Check Your Depth
Ensure that there is at least 70mm of depth between the glass and the edge of your window frame so the roller blind can fit neatly inside.
Take note of any obstructions, which should be minimal. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us.

Step 2: Measure the Width
Measure and record the exact inside width of the window frame across the top. We will deduct 4mm from this width to ensure your blind fits perfectly within the reveal.
■ Note: The fabric will be approximately 30–35mm narrower than your bracket-to-bracket width.

Step 3: Measure the Drop
Measure the exact inside height of your window frame from top to bottom. When installed, the blind will roll down and sit flush against the bottom of the frame.

Step 4: Choose Your Chain Side
Choose which side you’d like the control chain to be on. Consider which side is easiest to reach, obstruction-free, and least visible.

How to Measure for Ceiling Mount Curtains

Step 1: Measure the Width
Measure the exact width of your ceiling from one wall to the other. If you have cornices, measure from the inside of the cornices. This will be your track width.
■ No need to calculate fabric – we’ll do that for you based on your track width.

Step 2: Measure Your Splits (Optional)
If you have multiple openings, such as bi-fold or sliding doors, you can choose how your curtains will split:
– No Splits → Skip this step. – One Split → Measure from the left wall across to where you’d like the split. – Two Splits → Measure from the left wall across to each split position.■ If you don’t provide specific measurements, we’ll space the splits evenly.

Step 3: Measure the Drop
Measure from the ceiling down to the floor on the left, middle, and right sides. If you have cornices, measure from the inside of the cornice. Record the largest of the three measurements.
■ If the difference between your three measurements is greater than 10mm, we recommend choosing a puddling finish.

Step 4: Choose Your Finish
When ordering, select from these finish options:
– Just Off the Floor → Curtains sit approx. 5–10mm above floor. – Touching the Floor → Curtains skim the floor by up to 5mm. – Puddling → Curtains puddle on floor by approx. 20mm (for more puddle, let us know at checkout).
■ Provide only your true measurements – don’t add or deduct. We’ll make the
necessary adjustments for a perfect fit.

Step 5: Choose Wand, Stack & Track Flow
When designing your curtains, choose the following:
– Wand Size → Match wand length to curtain drop. – Stacking → Left Stack, Right Stack, or Centre Opening. For motorised curtains, the motor will sit on the stack side. (Motorisation not available for multiple openings). – Track Flow → Fixed Flow (panels move in one direction) or Free Flow (panels move freely, but motorisation not available).

Always double-check your measurements. We’ll take care of the fabric allowances so your curtains arrive ready to fit perfectly.

How to Measure for Face Mount Curtains

Step 1: Measure the Width
For curtains to cover your entire wall: measure the exact width from one wall to the other. This will be your track width.
For curtains to frame your window: measure the outside width of your window frame or recess across the top. Then add around 30% to this width so your curtains stack neatly off your glass. Example: Window width = 1810mm. Add 30% (543mm). Track width = 2353mm.
■ No need to calculate fabric – we’ll do that for you based on your track width.

Step 2: Measure Your Splits (Optional)
For multiple openings (bi-fold or sliding doors), you can choose how your curtains split:
– No Splits → Skip this step. – One Split → Measure from the left edge to the split position. If starting from the window frame/recess, add your left stack allowance so curtains stack off the glass. – Two Splits → Measure from the left edge to each split. Add your left stack allowance if starting from the window edge.
■ If you don’t provide specific measurements, we’ll assume splits are evenly spaced.

Step 3: Measure the Drop
First, mark with a pencil where your curtain track will start – this ensures a level line across the top. It’s best to mount into wall studs.
Measure from the top of the track position down to the floor on the left, middle, and right sides. Record the largest measurement.
■ If the difference between your three measurements is greater than 10mm, we recommend a puddling finish.

Step 4: Choose Your Finish
Select from the following finish options:
– Just Off the Floor → Curtains sit approx. 5–10mm above floor. – Touching the Floor → Curtains skim the floor by up to 5mm. – Puddling → Curtains puddle on floor by approx. 20mm (for more puddle, let us know at checkout).
■ Provide only your true measurements – don’t make adjustments. We’ll calculate everything for a perfect fit.

Step 5: Choose Wand, Stack & Track Flow
Decide on the following options:
– Wand Size → Match wand length to curtain drop. – Stacking → Left Stack, Right Stack, or Centre Opening. For motorised curtains, the motor sits on the stack side. (Motorisation not available for multiple openings). – Track Flow → Fixed Flow (panels move in one direction) or Free Flow (panels move freely but motorisation is not available).
